The UFC has featured some of the most intense rivalries in the history of combat sports but Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock were arguably the first to gain crossover appeal in the mainstream.
Ortiz had already run roughshod over many of Shamrock’s top students from The Lion’s Den but back in 2002, their disdain for each other finally culminated in a meeting at UFC 40: Vendetta.
On that night, Ortiz put on a clinic as he battered Shamrock on the feet and on the ground as the brash “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” exerted his dominance over three rounds before earning the TKO stoppage.
Watch back now in this full fight video as Ortiz battles Shamrock in this legendary showdown from 2002.
